ARLIS/NA Worldwide Books Award for Electronic Resources - 2024 Winner!

We are so excited to have been awarded the 2024 Art Libraries Society of North America Worldwide Books Award for Electronic Resources for Coming Out of Chaos: A Vancouver Dance Story!

In case you haven’t heard yet, Coming Out of Chaos: A Vancouver Dance Story is an archival research and oral history project that reflects on the collaborative performance work Coming Out of Chaos (1982) to unravel its influence and its place in the emergence of contemporary dance in Vancouver from the 1960s to the present day. The full project can found here – kjdchaos.ca.

Emma Metcalfe Hurst (Creative Director) and Charlotte Leonard (KJD Archivist) received the award, and Emma was present to accept the award at the ARLIS/NA Conference in Pittsburgh this April!
