Reviews
“In Vessel, the evening’s most provocative work, Jamieson creates an animistic dreamworld of strange birds and hovering creatures.
Dancing alone, with long black black lines daubed on her face and limbs, Jamieson presents a series of visions – spirits she pulls down inside her and manifests for the audience with the expressive power of her movement.
Salvador Ferreras’ percussive score blends a gurgling marimba with bird calls, intensifying the sense that Jamieson is leading her audience deep into a primeval jungle. The choreography is rooted to the earth, low-slung and maternal. With her hands looping and fluttering, and isolations rippling through her body, Jamieson paints her bestiary with calligraphic flourishes. She becomes a shaman, connecting us to other places and other times.”

"Dancer Jamieson charts new course”
The Vancouver Sun, May 9, 1988
“The set, choir of Rattles, by artist Carol Itter, was a small jungle of suspended puppet-like figures made of diverse materials. Jamieson danced beautifully in and around this spirit-laden set to the Afro/Latin sound of the marimba, played by Salvador Ferreras. It was a feast for the senses.”
