The Heart is a Hunter
The Heart is a Hunter

About
Driven by an insatiable spiritual hunger, bent on a primal mythic journey, The Heart is a Hunter tells a story of union and loss, love and betrayal, pursuit and flight.
Six dancers share the stage with a five piece musical ensemble, whose visceral and gritty compositions instigate a dance of intense emotion. At times percussive and lyric, at times flowing and rhythmic, The Heart is a Hunter creates an interlocking ziggurat of motion and sound that stimulates the mind and the senses.
For this production, the first of our 10th anniversary season, a student/teacher group rate of $10 per person was available for groups of 10 or more. The performances ran from May 24th to May 29th, 1994, at the New York Theatre, 639 Commercial Drive. Show time was 8:00 p.m., with an additional matinee on Sunday, May 29th at 2:00 p.m.
An earlier iteration of this work was entitled Hunger.
