About

A ceremonial parade through the city’s Downtown Eastside – a procession of lights, dance, music and a bit of magic through the Downtown Eastside neighbourhood.

Artist/curator Glenn Lewis and the producers of LIVE Performance Art Festival joined forces with local performers, community members, dance and theatre groups for PROCESSION OF PERFORMING CIRCLES, a part of the Bright Light Public Art project.

Bright Light was a public art project commissioned by the City of Vancouver to mark the occasion of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics and Paralympic Games. Bright Light brought together the creative energy of arts organizations active in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Outdoor performances, video projections, urban planning demonstrations, social events and a parade are just some of the manifestations that animated the historical heart of the city.
